"In November 2011, Presidents Obama and Yudhoyono reaffirmed their support for the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership, a long term commitment to elevate bilateral relations by intensifying consultations and developing habits of cooperation on key bilateral, regional, and global issues."
addressing global partnerships in indonesia
Indonesia heavily depends on the domestic production of oil, gas, coal, and other energy sources. Although Indonesia does well with exporting goods, it is imperative for this nation to begin import goods from across the region. Just recently, the United States has committed to expand trade and investment ties with Indonesia through the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership. This partnership has grew tremendously throughout the past year. For example, two-way goods trade grew to $23.4 billion in 2010 and in the beginning of 2011 the U.S. goods exports to Indonesia has expanded by seventeen percent. Indonesia continues to be a important beneficiary of U.S trade and having this investment is a key part to achieving goal #8 of global partnerships.
